 +====== Object with subtraction area ======
 +===== Description =====
 +In many situations it becomes necessary to define subtraction areas (also called islands).  With this, one or more areas can be subtracted from a source area (refer to graphic). After creating a subtraction area the properties **distance** and **area** of the source area are recalculated.

 +{{:produkte:cad:planung:mas0006.gif?nolink|}}
 +
 +Areas can be deducted from both, 2D-objects and 3D-objects.

 +Please note that DTM models are special objects. Do not use those objects with subtraction areas.

 +
 +===== Procedure =====
 +If you want to subtract an island from an already detected area you have two options:
 +  * **Option 1:** Detect both areas. Click onto the island´s area and drag it with the mouse in the tree onto the area you want to deduct it from.
 +
 +  * **Option 2:** Mark in the object tree the area that you want to deduct an island from. Then detect the subtraction object as a new object. The new object will then be sorted automatically behind the already detected area.
 +
 +The object tree to the example in the graphic looks like this:\\ {{:produkte:cad:planung:mas0007.gif?nolink|}}\\ \\ Graphical properties are not applied to subtraction areas. In the [[Optionen]] you can specify, if you want to label subtraction areas negative or positive.

 +Subtraction areas do not occur individually in a point balance. If you want to add the islands to a group as well, copy the areas (see [[Massenbaum]] > Functions) to apply them one time as subtraction areas and one time as individual area.
