Export of DTM-data

Description

With the functions in the tab Export different DTM-objects can be exported to other formats.
For the export of DTM data there multiple options like an Export to Excel, as Export as Ascii-file or Export as Csv-file, an Export to REB-selection and export according to different GAEB/REB-process descriptions.

Procedure

The export of DTM-objects is object-dependent. For this select in the window Info (see Quick-DTM) the tab Export. For example, if a triangulation is exported to a REB record set then the allocated point and edge sets will be generated as well.

Functions

Export to Excel

When exporting to Excel the data is transferred to an Excel Table and formatted.

Point set

The direct export of a point set with point number, coordinates X, Y, Z, and the description listed in columns. Setup of the columns titles: point number, X-value, Y-value, Z-value, description.

Triangulation

The direct export of triangles in a triangulation with the triangle numbers and the three allocated coordinates X, Y, Z listed in columns. Additionally the areas are documented.

Setup of column titles: triangle, X-value, Y-value, Z-value, projected area, developed area, average height.

After starting the function the triangles can additionally be labelled with numbers. These are important for an overview plan and the verifiability of the documentation.

Grid

The direct export of surface grids with the cell number and the three allocated coordinates X, Y, Z listed in columns. Additionally the area is documented. The average height and the volume are not calculated.

Setup of column titles: wire cell, X-value, Y-value, Z-value, projected area, developed area.

End area volume

There are two options to the export for the end area volume to excel:

Standard
Direct export of prisms of the end area volume where the number of prisms and the three related coordinates X,Y, and Z are exported in columns. Additionally, areas and volumes are documented.

Setup of column titles: prism, X-value, Y-value, Z1-value, Z-2-value, projected area, average height, volume (ratio Z1 to Z2).

Direct output of points, the prisms of the reference surface, the prisms of the target surface and the result. Where the point list with the point number, the corresponding coordinates X, Y, Z1 and Z2 and the lists of Prisms with Prism numbers, the three corresponding point numbers and the average level in columns can be issued. In addition, there will be a documentation of areas and volumes.

Export as ASCII-file

When exporting as Ascii-file a file format is created which can be opened and reviewed in any Editor.

Export as CSV-file

When exporting as CSV-file identical contents are generated simliar to the export to Excel. The columns are separated by a comma or semicolon and thus can be opened by all common spreadsheet editing programs.

Export to REB-selection

With this function DTM data like point sets and triangulations can be imported as REB-file.

If a triangulation cosists of multiple point or edge sets these are merged to a point or edge set when imported.

The type of data can either exist in form of single files (data types) or in a file as REB record set. This REB record set can then consist multiple data types.

Specify the file name of the file to be created by clicking […].

A DA49 or DA58 can not be imported without the associated DA45.

If the option DATAflor Export is activated multiple point or edge sets are generated in the case that the exported triangulation contains multiple point or edge sets.

With the option Create control objects the AutoCAD points (DA45), 3D-polylines (DA49), and 3D-areas (DA58) are generated which then can be used to check the created DTM data. The data is created on separate layers.


Export according to GAEB/REB-process description

With this function DTM data like point sets, triangulations, models, end area volumes, and profile groups can be exported in many different ways.

If a triangulation cosists of multiple point or edge sets these are merged to a point or edge set when imported.

The type of data can either exist in form of single files (data types) or in a file as record set of process description. This record set can then consist multiple data types.

Specify the file name of the file to be created by clicking […].

With the option Create control data the AutoCAD points, 3D-polylines, and 3D-areas are generated which then can be used to check the created DTM data. The data is created on separate layers.

Further information on the GAEB/REB procedure description descriptions used can be found by clicking the button [Process descriptions].

According to the REB process description there are only four digits available for the consecutive row numbering of triangle meshes. if there are more than 9999 triangles the REB conform export will be incomplete.

You can execute a non-REB-conform export. For this, an additional digit is used so that up to 99999 triangles can be exported.

According to the REB process description 21.013 only three decimal places are allowed. Because of this, there can be inprecise values compared to the CAD mass.
