With this command you can import the current map section from Google Earth in your drawing. This way you can use it, eg. as plan background, overview, or site map.
The map section visible in Google Earth is imported in DATAflor CAD as a greyscale pixel image. The Gauß-Krüger-Coordinates are used to automatically direct the image to the north. It is possible that a rotated image is inserted in this process.
All inserted images are added to the layer Images Google Earth.
The viewing height (eye alt.) in Google Earth must not be greater than 50km. Please zoom in. The eye altitude of your current view can be found in Google Earth in the bottom right corner.\
To import the Google Earth image into DATAflor CAD the view in Google Earth has to be plan view. In case the view is tilted, please set it to plan view before executing the command.
With the Google Earth Navigation Tools in the upper right corner you can zoom in, tilt, and rotate the image.
With the Zoom-Slider you can zoom in and out of the map.
With the Compass-Tool you can adjust the rotation and tilt of the image. With the left and right buttons you can rotate the image and with up and down it can be tilted.
The imported maps are saved in the user directory of DATAflor CAD in the folder Google Earth\Images.
Is the image in DATAflor CAD distorted it might be the case that the terrain heights are activated. To deactivate untick Show Terrain in the Google Earth menu > Tools > Options > Tab 3D view in the field Terrain Quality and re-import the image.
You can also import images into paper space, but the procedure is different to the one for model space. After entering the command GEIMPORT you are asked to specify an insertion point and then you can scale and rotate the image as required. For this procedure there are no limitations to eye altitude and tilt.
