 +On the tab **General** the automatic decomposition of arcs into polyline segments is controlled which is necessary because, for example, AutoCAD cannot place images on arcs. For this reason and also for the creation of levels and triangulations arcs and circles have to be converted into linear segments. For this two different methods of derivation are available. ​

 +Here, you can adjust the settings if your drawing is not configured properly for the specified grid. For this, you can make a selection of the existing grids or settings for the customized grid.  ​

 +With the default settings of the **UTM coordinates (automatic) ** the coordinate system (Universal transversal Mercator) used by Google Earth will be supported.

 +|**Algorithm**|Projections that are used for the conversion of 3-dimensional geographic coordinates in 2-dimensional (mostly cartesian) coordinates|
 +|**Datum**|Usually an only locally valid model mapping the earth'​s surface. It is defined via the parameters of an ellipsoid and the information on its location.|
 +|**Longitude of Origin**|Longitude of the centre (Central Meridian) of the displayed meridional zone (for Germany eg. 6°, 9°, 12° and 15° East).\\ The natural origin of the coordinate system can usually be found in the intersection of the Central Meridian and the equator.  +The default layers is always **//​0_Outline//​**. However, an existing layer can be selected or a new layer can be created, also.\\ With current Layer is inserted, which means that when creating an outline the current layer in the AutoCAD drawing is used.

 +If the outline derivation is opened from the Object-Manager (see [[Menü und Symbole]] > Menu Masses) and the **Prefix for the Layer Name** is activated ​ (see [[Optionen]] > Tab General) the layer prefix is placed before the layer selected here.\\ ​
